The AIMM Center brings the latest inspection sensors, robotics and decades of NDT expertise under one roof. Developed by CICNDT and Omni NDE and opened on April 4, 2025, our 4,000-square-foot facility near Hill Air Force Base helps aerospace, defense, wind and advanced manufacturing teams find the right inspection solution for complex composite parts, and put it into production.
Collaborative robots position CT and digital X-ray sensors around complex parts, delivering non-contact, high-resolution 3D imaging of internal structure. Volumetric CT reveals voids, porosity, incomplete fusion and laminate inconsistencies, and CT data can be compared against CAD for dimensional verification and reverse engineering.
Using the voidsy 3D V-ROX photothermal tomography system, we image and locate hidden defects such as delaminations, voids and impact damage in composites, quickly and without contact. Thermographic methods complement CT and ultrasonics for fast screening of large areas.
Dantec Dynamics shearography systems, including the FlawHunter vacuum hood, map delaminations, disbonds and core crush in real time. Shearography needs no couplant and works on painted and coated surfaces, making it well suited to skins, fan cowls, bonded structures and parts with lightning strike protection.
Phased array ultrasonics handles complex geometry and multi-angle inspection, while non-contact laser UT scans large composite surfaces at high resolution. Bond testing finds delaminations, disbonds and weak adhesion zones, and eddy current covers conductive materials and near-surface flaws.
